AUTHOR: Brain T. Seifrit
Tyrell Sloan is the heir to his Grandfather's land, which consists of an old rickety small house and over 300 acres of land. He buys a large horse named Pony (that will bring tears to your eyes from laughing so hard). He’s a stubborn horse, but also loyal; and becomes a very good friend to Tyrell. Pony loves to chase bears, and when he sees one, he takes off after it, throwing Tyrell Sloan to the ground, but it comes back to its master to make sure that Tyrell is okay. Tyrell mounts Pony once more and then passes out. Pony then takes Tyrell to Grannies, a little merchant lady near by. She doctors him until he is well. He meets a beautiful woman, and spends one sweet night with her. Then Tyrell is on the road again heading to his grandfather’s cabin. During the journey to Red Rock Canyon, he encounters a slew of unforgettable characters, too many to mention by name, and he hears some extraordinary tales about his Grandfather. Tyrell begins to wrestles with the day-to-day continued existence of isolation, as he tries to make a life for himself. He learns that three of the richest gold claims in the Columbia Kootenay are on Sloan land, but all that gold, he realizes, is not worth the burden. Tyrell hears that his grandfather could have been murdered; so he sets out to find the truth of his grandfather’s death.
This is a wonderful story full of love, suspense and mystery, set back in the old west.
